I like them all but the last one. I get the concept of thinking of how your actions affect others and you should think of others, but I don't necessarily think it's good to ingrain in your kids to put themselves last, especially girls. How many of us put ourselves last and end up burned out and resentful? How many of us never learned to say no and to take some "me" time to our own self-detriment? Maybe something like, "Live for Jesus, live for others, live for yourself" or "Be true to Jesus, be true to others, be true to yourself." Like I said, I get the concept and agree, but the wording is troublesome to me.

99 points? That is the opposite of failure, it is in fact double what I scored. I think you have a one up on me though with the 5 meals a day and your roller derby lifestyle probably means you are already in MUCH better shape than me. I could only get through 30 minutes of the workout - ouch!

Matt,

I wish I had that recipe, along with the sugar topped bagels! I have an alternative you could try:

Chocolate Chip Muffins
from Winter 2006 issue of Fine Cooking dedicated to Chocolate.

3-1/2 cups all purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/3 cups granulated sugar
10 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
1 cup whole milk, at room temperature
1 cup sour cream, at room temperature
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 large egg yolk, at room temperature
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract (vanilla bean + vodka)
1-1/2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 12-cup muffin tin.

Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In a bowl, whisk together the butter, whole milk, sour cream, eggs, egg yolk and vanilla extract.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently combine using a rubber spatula. Mix only until the dry ingredients are moistened (will be lumpy).

Fold in chocolate chips.

Distribute the batter among the muffin cups.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
